Year 3 kicks the year off with a bang, delving into Solids and Liquids in our first Science unit and I am, you are, we are Australian in History. In Christian Studies we look in depth at a range of Christian character traits. Easy to learn about, hard to apply but that’s the challenge we put to the students for their year ahead.
The second Science unit is called Is it alive? In Christian Studies we consider different levels of community and the massive effect that each of us can have for God’s kingdom here on earth, when we work together, using the gifts that we have each been given.
Our next Science unit is called Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot where we explore heat. In Geography Semester 2 we delve into Australia and its neighbours! Students will draw on studies at the local scale, including representations of Australia and the location of Australia’s neighbouring countries. They will identify the natural and human characteristics of places in Australia as well as its neighbouring countries.
Our eyes turn heavenward in Unit 4, when we look into space to discover the wonders of the Day and Night. We actually take a virtual journey into space at the Brisbane Planetarium which provides more breath-taking experiences. To finish the year in Christian Studies, we use the Bible to find examples to help us live our lives as heroes for God.
