Facilities Department
Facilities Officer
Description
Permanent Full-Time
The Facilities Officer ensures the effective operation of the College by attending to logistics and maintenance administration. This position is responsible for identifying the facilities maintenance requirements, ensuring works are logged and rectified in a timely and accurate manner, providing support on infrastructure projects, while supporting the continuity of College services and operations.
Qualifications & Essential Criteria includes:
- Completion of Year 12 with relevant work experience and/or education/training.
- Profess a Christian belief and regularly attend a church fellowship.
- Model Christian character and living within the community.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate an excellent ability to liaise and communicate with staff, parents/carers, students and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying the facilities maintenance requirements, general administration including maintaining various registers, ensuring works are logged and rectified in a timely and accurate manner co-ordinating the logistics and distribution of equipment and furniture
- Delivering and collecting mail, parcels and documents, co-ordinating school bookings of church venues,
- Co-ordinating the emptying of bins, setting up and packing down for school events, moving/arranging furniture and seating; removing and relocating furniture from room to room; opening up, checking, storing and distributing school supplies and stocks; general maintenance from minor breakages, repairs, requests to reporting and co-ordinating bigger repairs, pest mitigation, monitoring gas bottles and swap outs, installing reserve parking signage, Monitoring carpark activity, traffic duty, tiding up and cleaning of allocated areas, offsite errands. Assisting with significant events such as bush dance, plays and major sporting events.
- Generally during school times ensuring that only authorised people enter the school area.
- Other relevant and reasonable duties as may be required from time to time.

Primary School
Student Support Department Teacher – Case Manager
Description
This 3 day a week position deals directly with students, colleagues and parents about student support matters. The objective of the role is to provide students with support and strategies that allow them to access the curriculum and operate effectively at school. It requires liaising with external professionals and includes completing formal applications in consultation with staff and parents to government departments for funding allocations which are reviewed on a regular basis.
In addition to case managing student needs, small group student support lessons in general literacy, writing, social skills or executive functioning will be included in the responsibilities of this position.
The applicant should be able to effectively multi-task and self-manage their time, whilst also demonstrating the ability to follow directives and work collaboratively as part of a functional team. They should possess clear oral and written communication skills and be willing to adapt to new and changing technologies utilised within the primary school. All applicants should be able to demonstrate a Christian commitment in their personal lives.
Requirements include:
- Queensland College of Teachers current registration
- Post graduate studies in Learning Support or inclusive education would be desirable

Tasks will vary and may be administrative in nature or may include working directly with small groups of students or individual children. Secondary Supply Teacher Aide
Description
This position is responsible for collaboratively assisting with all aspects of the planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs across the key learning areas for every student in the allocated classes, as directed. In addition, the teacher aide has a duty of care to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students within their care.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in carrying out academic programs.
- Monitor the students’ progress when requested.
- Support and assist the students with their social and emotional progress.
- Preparation of resources for learning activities e.g. administration tasks for teacher and self, library-based work, photocopying, development of resources etc.
- Classroom-based support and direction of students involving standing or seated presentation of information to students, monitoring verbal and non-verbal responses of students, providing answers to questions and supervision of group and individual learning activities.
- Excursion-based support of students; involving supervision of small or large groups of students outside the school premises, monitoring student completion of excursion-related learning activities, constant surveillance of surroundings to ensure student safety etc.
