Student Support Department Teacher – Case Manager
Description
This 3 day a week position deals directly with students, colleagues and parents about student support matters. The objective of the role is to provide students with support and strategies that allow them to access the curriculum and operate effectively at school. It requires liaising with external professionals and includes completing formal applications in consultation with staff and parents to government departments for funding allocations which are reviewed on a regular basis.
In addition to case managing student needs, small group student support lessons in general literacy, writing, social skills or executive functioning will be included in the responsibilities of this position.
The applicant should be able to effectively multi-task and self-manage their time, whilst also demonstrating the ability to follow directives and work collaboratively as part of a functional team. Secondary School
Science Technician (Relief)
Description
This is a support position located in the secondary Science department. The Science Technician will assist the Head of Science and teachers to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Science laboratories. The Science Technician’s prime function is to support the achievement of improved student learning outcomes in Science by assisting the teaching staff and college students in their use of the Science laboratories.
Academic Qualifications: Minimum of a relevant Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent. A bus driver’s licence would be an advantage.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare, distribute and set up samples/demonstrations, class sets of equipment and associated scientific materials for practical teaching laboratory us
- Prepare chemical solutions of known concentration from bulk supplies including concentrated acids, stains and media and manufacture simple glassware/general equipment for preparation-laboratory and teaching-laboratory use.
- Complete necessary curriculum related risk assessment documentation for teachers to review.
- Work independently in a science laboratory, recognising, anticipating and safely managing chemical hazards.
- Maintain scientific teaching resources, classrooms, storerooms, preparation rooms and laboratories in a clean, safe, orderly and secure manner.
- Maintain a safe chemical/laboratory waste storage/handling/preparation/disposal system including labelling, secure storage, calibration and control of equipment and apparatus.
- Collect off campus scientific materials, science resources and field samples and collect and care for flora and fauna within the science department, in accordance with current handling and prevention of cruelty regulations.
- Maintain a system for recording allocation and usage of materials and equipment, establishing a priority system where necessary.
- Organise and prioritise daily variation of tasks to flexibly support student learning outcomes.
- Operate laboratory equipment/apparatus and perform routine operator maintenance/instrument calibrations as required, in compliance with the manufacturer specifications.

Description
This position is responsible for collaboratively assisting with all aspects of the planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs across the key learning areas for every student in the allocated classes, as directed. About the Role
As the Events & Community Officer, you’ll foster College community, oversee events, and drive fundraising efforts. You’ll manage event scheduling, coordination, and quality control, collaborating with staff. Your role may involve combining fundraising with event planning or managing them separately. Community Building Responsibilities:
- Actively promote the College vision, purpose and values with the community.
- Cultivating networks both within and outside the College to foster community.
- Encouraging volunteer development to strengthen community bonds.
- Coordinate the assignment of Class Parent Representatives to Primary classes during Term 1 and facilitate the distribution of CPR communications to build class communities.
- Supporting the work of Parent Connect (the College P&F) in building community, organising meetings at least once a term and act as the College representative, attending meetings to report on program outcomes and future strategies.
- Liaising with Parent Connect to provide coordination for their parent engagement and community building activities.
- Attending key College events to forge connections with the parent community.
- Liaise with families to build community engagement with events such as the New Parents Morning Tea, Principal’s Reception for New Parents and the Volunteers’ Morning Tea.
- Assisting in expanding parent support networking groups such as Arts Connect and Sports Connect.
- Monitoring year-level Facebook pages to ensure alignment with College guidelines.
- Actively seeking out Community Grant opportunities for the College’s benefit.
Events Responsibilities:
- Liaise with key stakeholders to develop a strategic whole school event calendar for the year, including fundraising events.
- Manage all aspects of whole school events including fundraisers, significant assemblies, celebrations, parent engagement events and staff end of year events. This management includes:
- Scheduling and running sheet preparation
- Invitations and RSVPs
- Liaison with key speakers
- Catering
- Venue hire
- Set up and pack down
- Audio visual requirements
- Budget management
- Purchase orders
- Risk and compliance requirements
- Complete an event debrief after each whole school event to identify opportunities to improve and to inform future planning.
- Provide event management support for Parent Connect events including assisting with organisation, planning and delivery.
- Support staff event coordinators in effectively utilising the ‘Brushfire’ event platform for all event ticketing/registration requirements.
General
- Communicate in a professional and timely manner with colleagues and parents.
- Maintain confidentiality in regard to sensitive or private information about students, families, colleagues and the College, and also communicate information appropriately when necessary in the interests and wellbeing of the Citipointe College community.

DIBBLE SWIM SCHOOL operates at CITIPOINTE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE pool in Carindale. We provide both school learn to swim lessons and after school swim lessons. Blue Card, CPR and AustSwim or Swim Australia swim teaching qualifications required.
