Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO)
Our Year 6 Maths Extension students competed in the Junior Division Maths Olympiad, which allows teams and individuals to ‘put their talent to the test’ and compete against other schools and students across Australia and New Zealand.

Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge – Round 2
Bebras is a fun and engaging computational thinking challenge for students in Years 3 to 12. It is an international challenge that involves over 2.9 million students from 60 countries. We congratulate the following students for receiving a Certificate of Excellence:

Science Teachers Association of Queensland (STAQ) Awards
Each year, our Citipointe students are invited to participate in the Science Teachers Association of Queensland (STAQ) Science Contest. The competition challenges students’ skills in the areas of Mathematical Investigations, Scientific Investigations, Engineering and Technology, Classifieds Collection, Communicating Science, Environmental Action and a Poster Presentation.
This year, over 520 entries were judged across Year 2-6 in Queensland. We submitted over 30 entries and celebrated more than 20 awards across the above categories.

- Second place: Gabriel H (Year 4), Andrew M (Year 5), Lucan H (Year 5)
- Third place: Cecilia S (Year 6)
- Highly Commended: Archer W (Year 2), Gabriel H (Year 4), Max H (Year 4), Theodore N (Year 4), Jerry C (Year 6), Frederick T (Year 6), William Zhou (Year 6), and Serena W (Year 6).

Special mention to the following students who have been awarded a Bursary from the Australian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology: Elijah H (Year 2), Trini K (Year 4), Gabriel H (Year 4), Mae M (Year 6), Mira S (Year 6), Cassie L (Year 6) and Charmaine K (Year 6). Gabriel H (Year 4) has also been awarded an Australian Society of Soil Science Incorporated Bursary. Additionally, Gabriel H and James C (both Year 4), as winners of the Mathematical Investigations Division 3, and Charmaine K (Year 6) as winner of Division 4, have also automatically been entered into the National Maths Talent Quest.
Academic Competition: Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee
Participating in the Spelling Bee offers students a valuable opportunity to expand their vocabularies and enhance their reading skills. By spelling 30 random words from their reading level word list within 25 seconds each, students are exposed to new words and their definitions. This exposure helps them learn new words and encourages a continued interest in reading. We congratulate all of our students involved and commend our 34 state finalists!
